By Austin Smith Demonstrates two weaknesses of Ray Tracing. 1) This relatively simple scene took over 21 minutes to render on a brand new state-of-the-art computer, which I feel is a bit long. 2) No color bleed; this can especially be seen around the golden-brown pillar in the middle where you would expect to see some gold-brown ambiently reflected by the base, and also anywhere there are sharply defined shadows instead of the warmly rounded ones you would expect in a bright scene. NB: I just used one of the complicated pre-packaged scenes that came with POVRAY, I didn't create it. It just shows these weaknesses nicely so I thought I'd use it. Hopefully that's ok?
